Similar to a UK system, the institute is committed to providing driving opportunities to a limited number of 12 to 17 year olds.  It is well documented that if young drivers are trained early in a supportive, inspiring environment, not only are they more likely to develop excellent driving behavioural attitudes they will also tend to inspire their peers with a more mature attitude. Motor sport is a very healthy way of producing skilled, competent drivers.  They can demonstrate their skills in official motorsport venues, surrounded by like minded, friendly, social atmosphere.  They are much less like to ‘show off’ or have to ‘prove’ anything to their peers.  Their driving credibility sky rockets because they are a ‘competitor’.  Younger drivers are mostly accompanied by parents who also enjoy the social aspects of the sport.

The Australian Institute of Junior Drivers offers a structured approach to involvement, effort and commitment for a whole range of driving related exercises...from go karts to first aid courses.  We are firm believers that if you’re having lots of fun while learning, retention of the skills is dramatically improved.
